What are dietary minerals?

There are four main chemical elements –hydrogen, carbon, nitrogen, and oxygen. These four elements are base building materials of all living stuff. Besides these main elements, there are other chemical elements, called “dietary minerals”, which play a highly significant role in the biochemical and physiological processes of our body. For proper functioning, our body needs more than 20 dietary minerals.

Dietary minerals must be consumed with food or supplements always in the appropriate quantity. Shortage or excessive consumption may be harmful. The only way the body gets the minerals- is intake with the food or food additives. Natural sources of minerals are always preferable.
